In a distressing turn of events in Piliyandala, a taxi driver remains at large after allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 23-year-old teledrama actress during a hired ride.

The young woman, whose identity is protected, found herself in a harrowing situation when the taxi driver reportedly deviated from the route, stopping midway and attempting the assault.

The incident unfolded late in the evening as the actress, known for her roles in popular teledramas, hired the taxi for transportation. As the journey progressed, the driver purportedly diverted from the planned route and halted the vehicle at an undisclosed location, where he allegedly attempted to sexually assault the young actress.

Reacting swiftly to the alarming situation, the 23-year-old actress fought back against the assault by raising the alarm and screaming for help. Startled by her resistance, the taxi driver hastily fled the scene, leaving the shaken but physically unharmed victim. The actress promptly reported the incident to the police.
