Ajith Basnayake, who previously served as the Prison Commissioner Industries, has been appointed as the new Prison Commissioner (Administration). Simultaneously, Gamini B. Dissanayake, former Prison Commissioner Rehabilitation, now assumes the role of Prison Commissioner Operations and Intelligence and Security.
In addition to these high-profile changes, several prison superintendents have experienced shifts in their scopes of responsibility, signaling a broader effort to align roles with evolving priorities within the department. Furthermore, transfers have been announced for 14 Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, with the objective of fostering a dynamic and collaborative working environment.
