Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Member of Parliament Shan Wijayalal de Silva has announced his decision to throw his support behind the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), as confirmed by SJB National Organiser Tissa Attanayake.

This political defection comes from a seasoned politician who, at one point, held the position of Chief Minister in the Southern Province.

Tissa Attanayake, speaking on behalf of the SJB, revealed that MP Shan Wijayalal de Silva has decided to align himself with their political agenda. The move is likely to have repercussions within both the SLFP and the SJB, impacting existing alliances and political dynamics.

The SLFP, however, has not yet announced any formal action against Shan Wijayalal de Silva for his decision to switch allegiances.
