Harine Fernando, the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, has issued a Special Gazette suspending the governing bodies for five sports, namely Archery, Kabaddi, Wrestling, Bridge, and Roller Skating.
The suspension is set to be in effect for a specified period, with immediate actions taken to address administrative concerns within these sports organizations.
The Gazette appoints the Director General of the Department of Sports Development as the temporary Competent Authority responsible for overseeing the administrative activities of the suspended governing bodies during the suspension period.
This decision, according o the Ministry, is aimed at addressing any issues or challenges faced by these sports organizations and ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions during the interim period.
