The newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, officially presented his credentials to the President in a formal ceremony. Jha, who previously served as the Indian Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, is set to assume his duties in Sri Lanka shortly, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
With a distinguished diplomatic career, Santosh Jha brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to his assignment in Brussels, he served as the Ambassador of India in Uzbekistan from July 2019 to July 2020. Jha's diplomatic expertise was further showcased during his tenure as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC from July 2017 to June 2019, where he held the personal rank of Ambassador.
Before his time in Washington DC, Jha served at the Indian Embassy in Brussels from 2010 to 2013, during which he held the position of Deputy Chief of Mission. Notably, he also assumed the role of Charge d’ Affaires from January to September 2012, adding another layer to his extensive diplomatic service.
