Former Sri Lankan cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya is on the brink of accepting the role of 'Full-Time Cricket Consultant' for the national team.

Jayasuriya, a cricketing icon with a storied career, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the forefront, contributing insights into strategy planning, technical aspects, and overall development of the Sri Lankan cricket team. His role may also encompass training, coaching, and mentorship, aiming to bolster the team's performance on the international stage.

This potential appointment could mark a shift in the coaching hierarchy, potentially replacing the role currently held by Mahela Jayawardena, who serves as the Consultant Coach for the Sri Lankan cricket team.
