The Road Development Authority (RDA) has issued a notice to street food vendors in Kimbulawala, instructing them to remove their stalls and leave the area by Friday (Dec. 08).
The vendors, who previously faced a removal request in August, claim they received a written notification without a specified reason for the recent decision.
The RDA cites concerns about obstruction to vehicular movement and road accidents as factors behind the directive.
Previous attempts by the Urban Development Authority to address the issue had resulted in an agreement allowing vendors to continue, but challenges persist.
