A State Minister has hosted grand Christmas party was hosted for 800 people in Marawila when the people were facing severe economic problems.

State Minister Sanath Nishantha Perera hosted the party while President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapksa were among the participants.

All 157 MPs who supported the budget were invited to the Christmas party, informed political sources said.

The State Minister had initially planned this party for 53 MPs who supported the Joint Opposition under the previous government. However, the President had instructed rhe State Miniser to invite all 157 MPs who supported the passage of the last budget to the Christmas party.

Accordingly, the State Minister has invited not only the 157 MPs but also the security personnel of the MPs, the drivers and the police officers in the Marawila area.

It is reported that the number of people who attended the Christmas party exceeded 800.
