Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris has been appointed the acting Finance Minister.

The appointment has been made as Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa has left overseas.

Political sources said Rajapaksa had left for Dubai on a personal visit.

His wife, Pushpa Rajapaksa had also joined the visit.
