The Colombo High Court has ordered the temporary release of the passport of former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, which was in the custody of the judiciary, in order to obtain a visa.
Patali Champika Ranawaka's lawyers who filed a motion before Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte today (14) said that his client was expecting to go abroad in February and that his passport, which is currently in the custody of the court, should be temporarily released in order to obtain the necessary visas.
The High Court Judge granted the request and ordered the temporary release of the passport of Champika Ranawaka.
Ranawaka was earlier granted bail in a case filed against him in connection with the 2016 accident of reckless driving and concealment of evidence.
