The Ministry of Finance has taken steps to brief the Cabinet of ministers on the agreement signed between Yugadanavi Power Plant and an American company.
Several parties have already filed fundamental rights petitions against the agreement in the Supreme Court and the relevant petitions will be heard by a five-judge panel on the 16th and 17th.
Several parties representing the government claimed that the Cabinet was not informed of the agreement signed between the Government of Sri Lanka and the US company.
They also held a public event in protest of the agreement and criticised the conduct of Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
