Members of the Samagi Jana Balawewa have decided to boycott parliament today, in protest of the alleged acts of harassment by government members.
Meanwhile, it has been decided to hand over a letter signed by the members of the Samagi Jana Balawega to the Speaker today in protest.
They also staged a protest within the parliamentary premises today.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was also seen speaking to the protesting MPs of the opposition earlier today.
Opposition MPs claimed that a group of ruling party parliamentarians attempted to assault SJB MP Manusha Nanayakkara in Parliament.
