Former President Maithripala Sirisena today indirectly responded to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa saying the 2/3 majority of the government hinged on the support of the 14 SLFP MPs.
Sirisena, now a ruling party MP, made this remark while speaking in Parliament this morning. President Rajapaksa yesterday said he could revoke the civic rights of those in power during the Easter Sunday attack using the 2/3 majority in Parliament. Sirisena was the President and the Minister of Defence when the Easter Sunday attack took place.
"This is a coalition government. Senior figures in this administration much act in a manner that does not create divisions in the government. Many governments in the past collapsed when they could not protect harmony within the ruling camp," Sirisena said while responding to Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
"I am an innocent man. I don't want to fight with anyone. But, when I attack, it will come in very unexpected ways," the former President attack.
