Former IGP Pujith Jayasundara today (Jan. 22) pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to take appropriate action and evading duty despite receiving intelligence that a terrorist attack was being carried out on Easter Sunday.
The charges in the case filed against Jayasundera have been read before the Colombo High Court today (22) and the indictment was handed over to the accused.
The case was taken up before a three-judge bench comprising Justices Namal Balalle, Aditya Patabendige and Mohamed Irshadeen.
