Colombo District Parliamentarian Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa has stated that he will vote in favor of the budget proposal as there is no alternative.

He said that if the budget is defeated, there should be an alternative in Parliament and if the budget is defeated without such an option, the entire public service could collapse.

Although Rajapaksha represents the ruling party, he has has taken a critical stance against the government om several issues.

Meanwhile, the SLFP, which has also indicated that it is willing to leave the government, is likely to vote in favour of the budget.
