Rev. Fr Cyril Gamini has arrived at the CID to record a statement in relation to a complaint made against him by State Intelligence Service Director-General, Major General Suresh Salley.

The CID said that they were summoned to the Special Investigation Unit No. 1 of the CID today at 10 am to obtain a statement regarding the same complaint.

On two previous occasions, the CID summoned Fr. Cyril Gamini for questioning, but he did not appear before the CID.

On November 2, Fr. Cyril Gamini filed a Fundamental Rights petition in the Supreme Court seeking an injunction restraining his arrest.

The petition was heard by the Supreme Court on the 8th and the Attorney General who appeared for the Director of the CID informed the Supreme Court that there were no plans to arrest Fr. Cyril Gamini.
