The number of daily Covid-19 infections has crossed the 700 mark since the 11th of this month and 718 cases have been identified on the 9th.
Consultant Family Psychician Dr. Malkanthi Galhena stated that the number of COVID19 patients receiving home treatment has also increased in the last few days.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths from daily COVID19 infections has also increased.
The Department of Government Information stated that the death toll from COVID19 infections has crossed 20 in the last two days.
There were 22 deaths due to Kovid infection on the previous day (13) and 23 deaths due to COVID19 on the previous day.
Of the deaths the day before, 18 were men and four were women.
Of those deaths, 17 were people aged 60 and over, and five were between the ages of 30 and 59.
Accordingly, the total number of COVID19 deaths in the country has now increased to 13,972.
