Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekara stated in Parliament today (11) that Zaharan Hashim's Fatima Sadia has never stated that intelligence officers had met Zaharan Hashim before the Easter Sunday attacks.

The Minister said that the statement made by Harin Fernando that his wife had stated that the intelligence officers had met Saharan Hashim was completely untrue and that he would challenge the Member of Parliament to make the statement outside Parliament without hiding behind parliamentary privileges.

The Minister also tabled the statement given by Zaharan Hashim's wife to the CID.

Weerasekera said that the CID had questioned Zaharan Hashim's wife before the Easter attack and that if Shani Abeysekera's CID had carried out the investigation properly, such a catastrophe would not have taken place.

He added that Harin Fernando was not a symbol of accuracy but a symbol of lies.

Weerasekera said that Fernando had questioned a lorry that was allegedly diverted at the Galanigama entrance of the Southern Expressway. He added that it was not a suspicious lorry but a lorry transporting ornamental fish from China to Horana.

He said that more and more false allegations are being spread about the Easter Sunday attack and some are trying to be heroes in Parliament by making fallacious statements.
