The three teenage girls who went "missing" last week had reportedly sought Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa's help to become dancers.
The girls were found by the Police last night and they have now returned home.
They had run away from their houses to become dancers and had attempted to join a dancing troupe. Having failed at their initial attempt, they had gone to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) office in Kotte and sought an appointment with Premadasa in order to get his help to become dancers.
"But they had been turned away from the SJB office because Premadasa was not available. They had also gone to Sirikotha to seek help," Police Media Spokesman Nihal Thalduwa said.
They had pawned two rings that they had on their hands and received Rs 60,000 in cash. They had used this money to buy clothes such as jeans, t-shirts and other casual wear to become dancers.
