The Consumer Affairs Authority has taken steps to remove the control prices imposed on a number of essential commodities including sugar, dhal, chicken and potatoes.
The maximum retail price imposed on the relevant goods has been removed by issuing a special gazette notification.
It is stated that 07 gazette notifications previously issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority have been canceled by the new gazette notification.
The new gazette notification states that the gazette notification issued on July 14, 2016 announcing the maximum retail price for chickpeas, wheat flour and imported milk powder as well as the gazette notification previously announcing the maximum retail price for rice has been canceled.
