Both Laugfs and Litro domestic gases are in short supply in the market.

The current shortage of gas has severely inconvenienced Sri Lankan consumers who are already battered by the soaring gas prices.

Laughs Gas Chairman K. H. Wegapitiya said that there was a shortage of Laugfs gas due to the shortage of dollars and yet 300 to 400 MTs of gas is supplied to the market daily.

Wegapitiya said that due to the non-receipt of dollars from the banks, it has become impossible to import gas.

A senior official of Litro Gas told media this afternoon that the company was maintaining its normal gas supply and that the demand for Litro Gas had increased due to the shortage of Laugfs gas.
