Father Cyril Gamini has been summoned by the CID to appear today to make a statement regarding a complaint lodged by the Director of the State Intelligence Service, Suresh Sallay.
Sallay complained to the CID that Fr. Salley and several other Catholic priests spread false information about him during an onling conference with Sri Lankans overseas on October 23. The conference was organized to discuss the action taken by the current government to investigate the Easter Sunday attacks.
Salley, in his complaint, said the false information about him disseminated by the Catholic priest could pose a threat to his personal safety.
The Police launched the inequiry subsequent to the complaint lodged by the SIS Chief.
