Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena has stated at the ruling party meeting that the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) in Malabe will be taken back under the control of the Mahapola Fund. The Minister has stated this at a meeting of the ruling party group chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the President's House in Fort. COPE Chairman Prof. Charitha Herath said in Parliament recently that a certain group of individuals had secretly taken control of SLIIT without following the due procedure. Gunawardena made his position clear on SLIIT after Colombo District Parliamentarian Premanath Dolawatta asked about the action to be taken in this regard.
