President of the Public Health Inspectors Association Upul Rohana has stated that strict legal action will be taken against those who violate health guidelines and hold various parties including weddings.
He said that despite the issuance of health guidelines, a large number of people are coming to the MOH offices on a daily basis daily seeking permission to hold various parties.
He further said that the public must adopt health precautions as the risk of the pandemic in the country has not yet abated.
However, Sri Lanka is expected to relax a number of restrictions later this week. The islandwide curfew was lifted earlier this month allowing the public to return to normalcy.
