Businessman Thirukumar Nideshan has been summoned to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption tomorrow (08) to record a statement on the revelations made by Pandora Papers.
This follows a directive issued by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to the Bribery Commission to launch an immediate investigation into the incident.
The President has informed the Commission to present him with a report in a month.
Thiru Nadesan is the husband of former Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa whose name has also been mentioned in Pandora Papers.
The Opposition has called for the appointment of a Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) to investigate the allegations.
