Leaders Of Constituent Parties Of Govt. Scheduled To Meet Today At Gammanpila's Residence To Discuss Yugadanavi Agreement And Other Issues

Leaders of the costituent parties of the government are scheduled to meet again today at the residence of Minister Udaya Gammanpila to discuss the controversial Kerawalapitiya Yugadanavi power plant agreement and the current political situation.

The same issues were previosly discussed at a meeting held at Minister Wimal Weerawansa's residence.

Following the duscussion at Weerawansa's residence, the party leaders held a discussion with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa but the talks ended without a final agreement.

The discussion held with the Prime Minister will be reviewed at today's meeting

The coalition partners of the government were in a position to discuss this matter with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the latter was overseas.

Strong differences of opinion have arisen between the ruling SLPP and the coalition partners of the government over a numer of critical issues concering the government.
