Minister of Public Defense, Rear Admiral Dr. Sarath Weerasekera has stated that he will stand by any police officer who enforces the law correctly.

Appearing on a TV programma last night. Weerasekera said all parties should allow the law enforcement authorities to carry out investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks.

"I told the police to do the right thing. Mistakes could happen but they should take measures to correct them immediately," Weerasekera said.

"If the opposition MPs are talking abut the mastermind behind Easter Sunday attacks, it is important for us to summon them to the CID and ask who the mastermind is. It is imprtant for the constinuation of investigations," he added.

"Is it wrong to seek information from them when they reveal controversial matters and conduct investigations,?" Weerasekera asked.
