Sri Lanka's inflation fell to 5.7 percent in September, the Central Bank said.
Accordingly, inflation in Sri Lanka has come down to 5.7 percent in September from 6.0 percent in August. Surface inflation, measured by the annual point change in the Colombo Consumer Price Index, has fallen.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka says that this is due to the statistical impact of the high base value in September last year (2020).
Food inflation, which stood at 11.5 percent in August this year, fell to 10.0 percent in September.
According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the annual point inflation in the non-food category was 3.5 percent in August 2021 and increased to 3.8 percent in September 2021.
The change in the Colombo Consumer Price Index, measured on an annual average basis, was 4.3 percent in August this year and rose to 4.5 percent in September.
