State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama stated that despite the lifting of the quarantine curfew on October 01, no trains will run in the country for the next two weeks.
The Minister of State also stated that steps will be taken to refrain from operating inter-provincial buses in the next two weeks.
He said the move would be taken on the advice of health officials.
He added that after the lifting of the quarantine city rules from October 1, the buses will run as usual between the provinces.
Army Commander Shavendra Silva has stated that the quarantine curfew, which remained enforced for 47 days. would be lifted on October 01 subject to a number of restrictions.
