For the first time in the history of the Department of Examinations, the Ministry of Education has decided to call for applications for the post of Commissioner General of Examinations and recruit a suitable candidate.

So far, only the first-grade officers of the Education Administrative Service with long service experience in the Department have been recruited for the post of Commissioner-General.

However, at present, a special grade qualification of the Education Administrative Service is required for the post of Commissioner General of Examinations and there are no qualified officers in the department.

However, this time the appointment will be made by calling for applications, Education Ministry Secretary Prof. Kapila Perera told a Sinhala weekly. He also instructed the officers to take the necessary steps to call for applications.
