SLPP Parliamentarian and former Deputy Minister Chandima Weerakkody has been infected with COVID19.

Weerakkody said this was confirmed following an Antigen test carried out at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital at around 9.30 last night (25) after several symptoms appeared.

He added that he was being quarantined at a private hotel in Hikkaduwa.

A number of MPs from the government and the opposition got infected with COVID19 during the fourth wave.
