Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and cricketer Lasith Malinda were among those who expressed condolences for the death of Eliyantha White, a controversial spiritual healer.

White was also considered to be the "personal physician" of the Prime Minister.

‘I’m deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Dr. Eliyantha White...His legacy will continue to live through all the lives he touched and healed of various ailments," Rajapaksa tweeted.

Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga thanked Eliyantha White for miraculously healing his foot injury in 2008.

‘Thanks to you I was able to go to greater heights in my career and for that, I am forever grateful,' he said.
