Eliyantha White, a self-styled healer wiith close links to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, is currently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.

White. a controversial figure, was instrumental behind throwing "blessed water" to the country's main rivers to save the country from the pandemic during the second wave. The move came under severe criticism from many quarters at that point.

He also vowed to treat COVID19 patients with his spiritual powers.

Sources close to him said White had shown severe symptoms and is currently undergoing treatment.
