A noticeable decrease in COVID19 deaths is expected in the next two weeks, said Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director General of Health Services said.
The reduction in deaths and COVID19 cases is expected due to the ongoing restrictions which were imposed two weeks ago.
He said the current quarantine curfew would be lifted at any time, adding that the authorities should take steps to introduce a new health care system in public transport and institutions that would prevent a fresh wave.
he health sector alone could not defeat the pandemic and that the support of the people should be mobilised for that.
