State Minister Channa Jayasumana has said that permission has been granted to import REGEN-COV.

The company wanting to import it was initially refused approval but has now received green light from the Sri Lankan authorities.

REGEN-COV is NOT a vaccine, but used for COVID-19 post-exposure prevention.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa initially pointed out that the government should take speedy measures to import the medicine to reduce the number of COVID19 deaths in the country.
