State Minister Channa Jayasumana said "false stories" about drugs are spread by those who have links with the drug mafia.

Jayasumana, in a handwritten statement, said such stories were spread by those who were affected by their moves to manufacture drugs in Sri Lanka.

He said they were creating "troubles" as they were barred from selling drugs at exorbitant prices.

However, Jayasumana said further details on this matter would be released to the public soon.

The ketter was co-signed by three other officials including Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, Chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation.
