Minister Bandula Gunawardena, who was tested positive for COVID19 yesterday, attended the COVID19 Task Force meeting at the Presidential Secretariat last morning.

The meeting was attended by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaks, a number of Cabinet ministers and senior officials.

Seated next to Gunawardena at the meeting were Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.

With Gunawardena testing positive for the virus, a number of senior figures in the government have become first-level contacts.

However, informed sources said Gunawardena wore his mask throughout the meeting and general safety guidelines were followed during the session.

Gunawardenaa underwent a Rapid Antigen test as several staff members at his office were tested positive for the virus.
