No Islandwide Lockdown In The Wake Of Current COVID19 Wave In Sri Lanka: Updated Health Regulations Announced

Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said no island-wide lockdown would be imposed in the wake of the current COVID19 wave in Sri Lanka.

The decisions taken this morning are as follows,

Weddings/celebrations: only 150 guests will be allowed in a hall that can accommodate 500. Only 100 in a hall that can accommodate less than 500.

Funerals - only 25 people at a time.

State service - only those required to come to work should attend from Monday (9) onwards.

All state functions postponed till September.
