President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has stated at a cabinet meeting last night (02) that the salary anomalies of teachers and principals could not be resolved at this point.

While acknowledging that the salary anomalies of teachers and principals should be eliminated, the President has said that given the current situation in the country, this is not an opportunity to do so.

The President has stated that the forthcoming budget will focus on correcting the salary anomalies not only of teachers but also of other public servants.

The President has said that despite the pandemic, the government has paid the salaries of public servants on time and that teachers must also fulfill their responsibilities at this difficult time.
