Veteran actress Hyacinth Wijeratna has passed away early this morning due to an accident.

The vehicle in which she ws travelling had met with an accident in the Lindula-Thalawakale area early this morning, the police said. '

The actress was on her way to Colombo after a teledrama shooting in Nuwaraeliya.

She was 75 years old at the time of her demise.

A versatile actress who is known for her humility, Wijeratne first entered the entertainment industry in1977.
