A nursing officer has been admitted to hospital after being assaulted by a Buddhist monk during a PCR test.
The monk had reportedly assaulted the nurshing officer for conducting a PCR test in a "painful manner. "
The police said the monk had assaulted the nursing officer with glass plate. The monk was due to undergo a PCR test as he showed COVID19-related psymtoms.
The hospital staff had handed over the monk to the Anamaduwa police. Further investigations are currently underway.
