Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said if the public failed to adhere to travel restrictions over the long weekend Sri Lanka might go into another lockdown in the coming weeks.

The Police have strictly advised the public to remain indoors over the lockdown due to the spread of COVID19.

“Sri Lanka had to go through a prolonged lockdown as the public failed to adhere to health guidelines during the New Year season,” he said.

The Police Media Spokesman added that the country might face a similar situation if the public disregarded health guidelines during the long weekend starting from Friday.
