SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam indicated that the party would support Mnister Udaya Gammanpila in the vote on the no-confidence motion presented by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) against the Minister.
Kariyawasam said the final decision on the matter would be announced after discussions with the Presidet and the Prime Minister.
"We have not decided on our stand so far. But, our decision will not inconvenience the government," Kariyawasam said.
Kariyawasam sent a letter to Gammanpila in the wake of the recent fuel price hike requesting him to resign from office.
The SJB handed over a no-confidence motion against Gammanpila amidst the fierce debate between the stakeholders of the government on the fuel price hike.
