State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera has said he is willing to relinquish all this positions in the government at any moment.

Speaking at the group meeting held at Deputy Speaker Ranjith Siyambalapitiya's office, Jayasekera has said he will continue as the General Secretary of the SLFP even if steps down from the government.

Jayasekera's recent critical remarks against the government has come under criticism at the group meeting of the SLFP.

A section of party MPs have stated that Jayasekera's remarks reflect badly on the SLFP as the party is a coalition partner of the government. Jayasekera's remarks reflected the widening rift between the SLPP and the SLFP.

However, the MPs who attended the meeting have requested Jayasekera not to step down from the government.
