Protests Banned Due To "COVID19-related Reasons" As Agitation Grows Over Fuel Price Hike & Fertiliser Issue

Protests and public gatherings where people gather in large numbers will not be permitted until further notice, the Police Headquarters announced.

The Police said the decision was made following a request by the Director General of Health Services.

The Police said public gatherings including protests have been banned due to the risk of spreading COVID19.

This comes against the backdrop where farmers across the country are agitated over the fertiliser shortage and the urban population is enraged due to the fuel price hike.
