A Major General who allegedly assaulted a wildlife officer and obstructed his duties was arrested this morning after surrendering to the Habarana Police.

The arrested Police Major General has been taken to Kekirawa to be produced before court, the police spokesman said.

The Kekirawa Magistrate yesterday (30) issued an order to the Kekirawa Police to arrest the Major General and produce him in court.

Meanwhile, the Union of wildlife officers said yesterday they would resort to a trade union action if the police failed to take action against the senior Army officer.
