A person has been arrested by the police for contacting Moratuwa Mayor Samanlala Fernando over the phone and asking "Den Sepadha?".

Fernando was recently arrested by police and was later released on bail.

The person who has been arrested is a resident of Moratuwa and he had telephoned the Mayor upon realizing that the latter had returned home. "Den Sepadha?" was a famous line used by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to refer to the hardships faced by the public under the previous government.

The Mayor had lodged a complaint with the Moratumulla police that he was harassed and threatened by the "nuisance caller".

Subsequently, the Moratumulla Police had made the arrest.
