Jorunalist Chamuditha Samarawickrema has been asked to appear before the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) tomorrow to record a statement.

Samarawickrama, in a recent Youtube video, said he had received death threats in the aftermath of the controversy surrounding butician Chandimal Jayasinghe and actress Piumi Hansamali.

The CCD had reportedly summoned Samarawickrama to record a statement on these death threat claims.

Meanwhile, lawyers representing Jayasinghe and Hansalai have written to the Fort police station lodging a complaint against Samarawickrama on the grounds that he criticized the court by disrespecting the court's decision during a TV programme with Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.

A copy of this complaint has been sent to the Attorney General.
