The Colombo Port City Economic Commission has been appointed by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Prominent lawyer Gamini Marapana, PC has been appointed the Chairman of the Commission.

The other members of the Commission are Treasury Secretary S. R. Attygalle, Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama, former-BOI Chairman Saliya Wickramasuriya, Kushan Kodithuwakku, Gerard Ondaatjie and Rohan De Silva.

The Commission, according to the Port City Act, will have wide-ranging powers over governing the Chinese-funded finacial city.
