SLPP MP K.P.S. Kumarasiri said some parliamentarians from rural dsitrcts would travel over 250 km without a vehcile to resolve the issues faced by the poeple.

"In fact, I have come to Parliament by bus," he added commenting on the controversy over importing new vehicles for Parliamentarians. The government has now reversed the decision in the face of severe public criticism.

"I reiterate that we need good vehicles for our needs because we serve the public," he said.

"Anura Kumara Dissanayake criticizes everything. But he doesn't come to Parliament by foot cycle," the MP said.
